The hlp Experience
This isn't your typical, dreaded photo shoot with a grumpy father and upset children. Sessions with me start with the standard "everyone smile at the camera" poses, you know, the ones Grandma wants for Christmas. ha! After that, we'll move on to the candid part of the session. This is where we play games and follow prompts to capture genuine authentic lifestyle photos. I guarantee you will not feel awkward or stiff in front of the camera; guided prompts are the perfect way to create those whimsical natural movements.
Sessions last 30-60 minutes, which is enough time for me to capture your family but not so long that people are itching to get home. The perfect amount of time!

Everything starts with a quick conversation! I'd like to know everything about your family photo session expectations and visions! We'll talk, see if we're a good fit, and then schedule your session!

Once we've gone over session and pricing information, and I've answered any questions you might have, we'll agree on a date, and I'll send you a contract and an invoice for a retainer on your session fee. Just sign and pay online, and you're officially booked!
3. planning your session
Not only will you fill out a personalized questionnaire where you will tell me all about yourself and your family, expectations you have etc. you will receive my style guide which goes over everything from flattering clothing, colors and location ideas to help create a stress-free photo session!
If you would like to have your hair and makeup done. I have stylists I work with that I can refer you to!
4. session day!
We will have finalized all the plans in the days beforehand; meeting time, location, outfits, "must have" shots. I want a relaxed mama not worrying about anything the day of her session.
Your session will be filled with those guided poses we talked about and candid, genuinely emotive moments. Expect to be filled with love, laughter and happiness for these special moments captured with your family!
5. your photographs
Your gallery has arrived!
A proof gallery of your wonderful images will be delivered to your email within two weeks of your session! You will then face the hardest task of the whole process: choosing your favorites! And if you're anything like me and can't make a decision because you just love them all, you will be able to purchase additional photos, your entire gallery and artwork collections from your session.

A non-refundable retainer secures your date on my calendar. That day is reserved exclusively for you! The retainer covers my time and talent during your session as well as a consultation, planning, location selection etc.
After we've captured your stunning family portraits, you'll have access to a digital proof gallery. Following that, you'll select your favorite images, ensuring you get all the images you love! You'll also be able to order stunning artwork from the digital collection of your choice.
Starting at only $400
I had so many moments I wanted captured. Family, my husband and I, our daughters and I asked Hillary if she could sneak in a 3 generation photo with my mom who came to help. Let me tell you did she deliver! The location was a beautiful apple orchard which is true fall in New England and she was able to capture everyone perfectly and get every shot I asked for. Even my 18 month old who didn’t want to take a picture without munching on an apple she was able to get some of the most amazing shots. I could not be happier with how the pictures came out and I highly recommend Hillary to capture life’s most precious moments!
