Choosing the Perfect Season for Your Senior Portraits: Spring/Summer vs. Fall

Let’s dive into the great debate of choosing between spring/summer and fall for your senior portraits. Timing is everything, so let’s chat about when to book and what each season brings to the table.

Spring/Summer Sessions: Blooms and Sunshine

The spring and summer before your senior year offer a prime opportunity for your senior photoshoot, especially if you’re after vibrant, colorful images. With the warmth of the summer sun, you’ll have a wider range of wardrobe options and won’t need to worry about chilly weather. Additionally, Spring and Summer offer a variety of outdoor settings such as gardens, beaches, and flower fields, providing beautiful backdrops for your photoshoot.

Fall Sessions: Cozy Vibes and Crisp Air

If you’re looking for portraits filled with turning leaves and that cool fall breeze vibe, then scheduling your senior portraits for the fall of your senior year would be perfect for you. The cooler temperatures would let you comfortably wear jeans without worrying about getting too warm and everyone loves the New England Foliage!

Booking Your Session

It’s essential to keep in mind that senior year is a hectic time. Schedules tend to be less packed during the summer months, making it an ideal time for photoshoots with fewer scheduling conflicts. Fall can get a bit trickier, with limited dates available due to peak season and busy schedules, so it’s crucial to lock in your senior portraits early on!

For spring/summer sessions, aim to book a few months in advance to secure a spot in my schedule. Fall sessions can be booked a bit later, but don’t procrastinate – popular dates fill up fast, especially for capturing that stunning foliage backdrop.

Choosing Your Season

Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference. Are you drawn to the freshness of spring/summer or the cozy warmth of fall? Consider the vibe you want to capture and book accordingly. Your senior portraits should reflect your unique journey and personality, so choose the season that speaks to you.
